I had an enjoyable time at the Write-O-Rama laureate potluck at Hugo House last night. Thanks, Kate & Fay for organizing it! Next time, I shall bring veggies instead of cookies. As ever is the case with potlucks, there were more desserts than dinner foods. (Oh, but that sausage was tasty, and the five-spice pear pie was every bit as delicious as I'd imagined it would be!) But it was fun to meet and chat with my fellow laureates, and I didn't think about the Portuguese class I was missing even once. Other exciting news is that Modern Haiku accepted two of my senryu for publication in their winter/spring '09 issue! http://www.modernhaiku.org/ I'm tickled pink and green and other exciting hues. Now I need to submit the poems they didn't want somewhere else. Yes, I am an acceptance letter junkie. The rejections are fine, too, since that frees up the poems to be sent elsewhere. After I receive my inevitable rejection from Realms of Fantasy, I'll try to come up with some new places to send my short stories.
